TIP #2: SET GOALS THAT YOU’LL ACTUALLY ACHIEVE WITH P-SWOT ANALYSIS

You’re going to get back to your P-SWOT and zoom in every section (i.e., strengths, weaknesses, threats, opportunities).

Information that you extracted will help you set your goals intentionally.   

Imagine if you set goals based on nothing or your momentary urge, what would happen? 

You would lose motivation in a week because your WHY isn’t strong enough, your reasoning is weak and let’s be honest… You haven’t even consciously grasped the act of setting goals (aka are you even sure what goals you set?). 

That’s why it’s an absolute must to reclaim your consciousness back and make an informed decision when it comes to setting your goals. It has a direct impact on whether or not you’ll achieve them.

It might take longer in the moment but it will SAVE YOU A LOT OF TIME (and pain) IN THE LONG RUN.

I’ll give you an example on how to work with the first section strengths (assuming you’ve already got some answers). 

Strengths

Instead of working on our strengths and becoming the best, we keep improving our weaknesses just to be on par.

I’m not saying that you don’t need to work on your weaknesses. I’m saying that when we’re working hard to mask our weaknesses with hard work, we can forget what our true strengths are.

Let’s take my example.

I was so concerned with my fight with maths (remember from yesterday’s session that maths is my weakness) that I totally neglected my true strengths. 

Now. Tell me this. What would have happened if I had focused on improving my maths skills?

I would have improved my skills! But (!) the chances are I would have become just average.

People don’t want ordinary. They want extra-ordinary. That’s why we better focus on our strengths

So, the question we should be asking ourselves is,

Do I want to set my goals based on my strengths or weaknesses?

If the answer is (hopefully) strengths, then here’s are just ONE thing you need to look into:

  • Go through your strengths in P-SWOT and ask yourself:  

How can I turn my strengths into my life path?

This is not as dramatic as it sounds. 

But it’s not an easy thing to answer either. 

To get 100% clarify on it, you need to analyze the other sections too (i.e, strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities).

Let me tell you, if your current methods aren’t driving you toward your goals, you need to try something different:

● 3 focus things
Most of us spend too much time on what’s urgent and not enough time on what’s important. That’s why before creating my to-dos, I ask myself:

“If I do just these three things, will I move closer to my goal?”
⠀
I’m currently doing that for business only but also considering applying it to my personal life.
⠀
[Let’s keep it real, some days are purely about biz, and we don’t get to do 3 (!) personal things 😃]
⠀
● Assign priorities
Next to each task I put a number referring to the importance of it. Obviously first three things are my focus tasks:

¹ FOCUS 1
² FOCUS 2
³ FOCUS 3
⠀
If I don’t manage to get to the ‘10’, I don’t panic as it’s number 10 for a reason. If it were critical, I would have assigned a higher number to it. The 10th then simply moves to the next day

● Ignore
There are activities, people and events I ignore. Very impolite and ruthless, huh? BUT. To move forward, I need to leave things behind. It’s impossible to open new doors when you’re not able to kiss goodbye to things that don’t serve you.

Look, I’ve finally come to understand that NO ONE HAS TIME FOR EVERYTHING. ‘Doing everything’ comes down to PRIORITIZATION.

We think we know what’s important to us. Good. But if you don’t invest in it daily, can you really call it ‘important’?
⠀
This question I had to ask myself when I was telling everyone that my health is my number one priority but I didn’t make time to either go to the gym or choose full nutrition meals.
⠀
You can tell any narratives you want, but in the end it’s ‘WHAT YOU DO’ that defines you.
⠀
I have three non-negotiable activities that I do no matter what:
⠀
- Business (split into sub-priorities)
- Sports (3 x week) + healthy eating
- Family (being in touch with my parents every day) + friends who are like family

  • I used to be a yes girl! Not in a weird sense but that it was hard for me to say No to opportunities.

Why would I? I wanted to do it ALL! I was not going to miss my boat! Huh? Familiar?

Some people are struggling with STARTING. My problem was with STOPPING 😂or better put - consciously pausing.

If someone asked me, Do you want to give a speech at this event?

I’d rush to say YES! There will be so many opportunities right? How can I turn it down?

And I couldn’t.

FOMO kicked in, and I just couldn’t say NO to the apparent things in life that came my way. Funnily, I could easily say NO to the most fundamental, highly important things.

We’re always saying NO to something. Even now, saying YES to writing this post, I’m saying NO to a script for my next YT video.
⠀
Both are important but having the 9-to-5 for which you have to travel while managing your business and hopping on the calls with clients, guess what. I learned to PRIORITIZE.

VUCA = Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous.

It means that circumstances change, your values change, and YOUR GOALS change too. Everything is temporary.

Now, how many of you knew that I don’t bullet journal any longer because my lifestyle changed?

Bullet journaling can be time-consuming when you have to draw all the spreads, trackers and design on your own.

I started my own business, and if you want your business to grow and become an empire, you gotta prioritize it.

I could still MAKE time, but I outgrew my objective before I reached it. ⠀
So, I won’t become a Bullet Journal Queen. I’ll take it. But my book still helps people who want to start a bullet journal which I’m absolutely grateful for.

Asking better questions will help clearly define lasting and purposeful goals. Behind those goals there will always be a strong WHY (aka your core values, reasons and principles).
